Moreland sent back to Reno

As expected, the Sacramento Kings have designated rookie Eric Moreland back to the Reno Bighorns of the D-League, according to general manager Pete D’Alessandro.  Moreland will likely only be with the parent club when they have extended home stays so he can practice with the team.  When the Kings are on the road, he’ll get playing time with the Reno squad.

Kings officially file protest of Memphis game outcome

The Sacramento Kings have formally protested the outcome of their November 13 game with the Memphis Grizzlies, claiming that Courtney Lee’s game-winning layup occurred after time had expired. According to an NBA press release issued on Monday, both sides will present their cases to back up a desired outcome with the final ruling to come by December 2.

Gay signs 3-year extension with Kings

On Wednesday, forward Rudy Gay signed a contract extension that will keep him in a Sacramento Kings uniform for the next three seasons.  The move formally establishes the team’s core of Gay, DeMarcus Cousins, Darren Collison, and Ben McLemore that will be around when the team opens its new arena in 2016.

Kings designate Eric Moreland to Reno

Sacramento Kings Announce Partnership with Legends Hospitality for new ESC

Today, the Sacramento Kings announced a partnership with Legends Hospitality to manage the team’s food and beverage services at the upcoming Entertainment and Sports Center (ESC), scheduled to open in October of 2016. The Kings also announced a partnership with the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Green Sports Alliance to establish and execute a sustainability program for the arena’s comprehensive food-to-waste cycle.

It was 2 p.m., Sunday afternoon, two hours before the Toronto Raptors opened their exhibition season against the Sacramento Kings in a game in Vancouver. Rogers Arena was mostly empty and the bounce of basketballs was the principal sound, as players from both teams warmed up. On the sidelines, the Raptors long-time public address announcer, Herbie Kuhn, shared some laughs with Kings rookie Nik Stauskas, the 20-year-old from Mississauga who had been picked No. 8 in the NBA draft in June.
