Assistant Bob Beyer departs Walton's staff

Assistant coach Bob Beyer is leaving the Sacramento Kings to join Stan Van Gundy with the New Orleans pelicans, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. He joined head coach Luke Walton’s staff back in 2019, bringing more than 35 years of coaching experience with a focus on defense.

Beyer previously worked under Ven Gundy during stops with the Orlando magic and Detroit Pistons.

It is expected that Walton will look to fill that vacated spot. Perhaps with someone from new Associate Head Coach Alvin Gentry’s former assistant coach pool when he was the Pelican’s head man.
