As of Saturday afternoon, only the Knicks and Hawks have enough room to sign Bogi to an offer sheet. I can see the appeal for Atlanta to go for it, but are they willing to roll the dice on another large contract commitment with Trae’s max extension looming?
The Knicks are a mess and it is clear players are still weary of trusting that franchise, so I would be surprised if he chooses New York. However, if money is Bogy’s #1 incentive, then NYC and more years of losing are a perfect match.
I just don’t see a path for him to stay in Sac long-term, so if the Kings decide to match any offer, they’ll just have to try and trade him next summer after an awkward 2020-21 season of way too many guards on the roster needing court time.
Or, they go with the 3-guard lineup and try to out-gun the league. That would be fun to watch, but not sustainable for long. I’m bored. Something has got to happen this weekend to improve the squad, at least a little.
